Conservation Systems for Positive Net Ecosystem Carbon Balance in Semiarid Drylands

Recent interest in improving soil health has emphasized the need for conservation systems that increase soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration without negative impacts on crop yield. Cover cropping diversifies cropping systems, lowers soil temperature, and increases SOC sequestration. The goal of this study was to evaluate the SOC dynamics of dryland cropping systems under diverse tillage and crop management practices.
