This 2-and-a-half-day school combines classroom instruction with field exercises to teach participants the basics of soil health management.
The 2023 South Dakota Soil Health School will be held on August 28-August 30 near Garretson, SD, on the farms of Anthony Bly and Bruce Carlson. This school is designed for agricultural producers as well as anyone with an interest in learning how to manage soils for resiliency and profit. The agenda will feature classroom-style presentations from producers and technical experts from across the state and region, as well as hands-on experiences in the field. Area producers will also share their challenges and successes with various methods for improving soil health. The class size ranges from 30-40 people.
This is an in-person-only event. No online option will be available. A block of rooms has been reserved for a nightly rate of $100 at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Brandon, SD.
