Native Plant Workshop Series-Invasive Plant Identification, Cover Crops and Growing Natives from Seed

Join staff from the Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District and Indy Urban Acres for a workshop to learn about invasive plant identification, cover crops and growing natives from seed! The workshop will be held at the 5 acre Indy Urban Acres farm site and will feature guest presenter Nathanael Pilla from Midwest Biological Survey. The workshop will include the following topics using various projects on the farm property:

  • Invasive plant identification
  • Cover crops
  • Growing native plants from seed
  • Information on upcoming workshops
  • Distribution of native plant resources

The workshop will also include repotting activities in the heated greenhouse at IUA.

The program is funded with the generous support of a grant from the National Association of Conservation Districts and USDA-NRCS.

Attendees will be limited to 25 registrants.

Where: 7700 Shearer Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46219

When: 9:00-12 Noon on Friday 12/6. Wear appropriate outdoor attire for being outside! Drinking water and hot coffee will be provided.
