“Successful Soil Solutions” In-Field Workshop with Certified Professional Soil Scientist Ray Archuleta and “Living Legend of No-Till” Barry Fisher! “Interseeding“
The purpose of the field workshop class is to understand how all four ecosystem processes work and how they interface with the soil. The soil is the foundation resource! The shovel and infiltration ring will be used to determine the indicators of soil function. Farmers, grazers, and agriculturists will learn critical skills of observation, interpretation, and understanding of soil function which will help reduce the need of costly chemical and physical inputs. They will also learn how to celebrate their soils, learn the Haney Soil test, and design a basic cover crop mix! The week will end with a public event on Saturday, August 17th in Fulton County. 8/14 – Miami County: Inter-seeding
8/15 – Wabash County: No-Till & Cover Crops
8/16 – Pulaski County: Grazing
8/17 – Fulton County: Main Event with 15-Way Cocktail Cover Crop Mix
