INTEGRATING COVER CROPS INTO CROP ROTATIONS IN UPSTATE MISSOURI

Studies have found cover crops improved soil health, prevented erosion, reduced compaction, assisted in weed control, and have increased commodity yields over time (Myers et al., 2015). Cartwright (2016) found that long-term cover crop use led to improvements in soil physical and biological properties that improved over all soil health,thus resulting in net benefits that could translate into increased long-term farm profitability.
