DESCRIPTION:The 16th annual Conservation in Action Tour.  The event will help connect the circle between farmer and consumer.  Attendees can look forward to seeing the supply chain up close and personal\, including cutting-edge dairy practices\, specialty crops like sugar beets and dry beans\, milling and processing\, and more!  Check out an outline of the agenda HERE to see where we’ll be visiting! \nOnline registration is quick and easy at https://www.ctic.org/tourregistration. The registration fee includes all tour activities\, bus transportation\, and meals. Regular registration ends on June 19\, registrations after June 19th will be subjected to a late fee. \nA limited number of rooms are being held in a Conservation in Action Tour reservation block at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth at a special tour rate for July 10 & 11. The registration web page includes a link for online booking of rooms at a discount rate.

DESCRIPTION:More information/register \nLearn about innovative farm management strategies\, new technologies for improving efficiency and productivity\, ways to ensure a successful transition of farm operations to the next generation at the 90th annual Purdue Farm Management Tour on July 11. \n2023 Purdue Farm Management Tour Flyer with map (download pdf) \n  \nPurdue University’s Center for Commercial Agriculture and Purdue Extension sponsor the tour\, which includes stops at two farm in Washington and Jackson counties in Indiana. Each tour includes an interview session where farm operators provide an overview of their farms. Host farmers will also share successful farm management tips\, discuss how the management of their operations is changing in response to the agricultural economy and evolving family circumstances\, and share reasons behind their recent innovations in production practices and adoption of new technology. This is an opportunity to ask questions and learn from the experiences of Indiana’s best farm business managers.​ \nThe Master Farmer program is a long-standing tradition in Indiana and honors individuals who have contributed heavily to Indiana agriculture and demonstrated success in farming efficiency\, stewardship of natural resources and community service. A reception with a panel discussion will be held in conjunction with the Tour to honor the 2023 Indiana Master Farmers at 4:00 p.m. July 11\, 2023 at Cornerstone Hall in Salem\, Indiana. \nThe tour and reception are free and open to the public; however\, registration is required. The 2023 Purdue Farm Management Tour will be July 11 in Washington and Jackson counties in south-central Indiana and the Master Farmer reception and panel discussion will follow.
