DESCRIPTION:Purdue Extension in northeast Indiana will host a field day on September 10 for farmers and agribusiness professionals that highlights current agronomic research. The field day will be held at Northeast Purdue Agricultural Center (NEPAC)\, 4821 E. 400 S\, Columbia City\, IN. \nThe program will begin with a series of morning workshops led by Purdue Extension experts. Workshop topics and presenters include: \n*State pesticide regulation update by James Wolff\, Extension Educator. \n*Corn production update by Dan Quinn\, Purdue corn specialist \n*Update on crop diseases\, by Darcy Telenko\, Purdue field crops pathologist \n*A Different Approach to P Management\, by Megan Bourns\, Purdue soil fertility specialist \n*Update on cover crops\, by Shalamar Armstrong\, Purdue agronomist \nFollowing lunch\, which our sponsors provide\, an optional session will be available on using UAVs to spray pesticides\, scout crops\, or seed cover crops. \nParticipants can receive private applicator recertification program credit. Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Soybean Alliance will be sponsoring the individual $10 fee. Commercial applicator CCHs and Certified Crop Adviser CEUs are also available. \nRegistration\, refreshments\, and vendor visits will be from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. The program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.\, with lunch provided. The optional afternoon session will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.\, or until complete.
