SUMMARY:Soil Health Workshop Series: Get the Soil Ready for Growing
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn more about getting your farm and garden spaces ready for the summer growing season.\n\n\n\nHealthy soil is the foundation of every thriving garden and productive farm. This hands-on workshop explores the core principles of soil health and how working with the soil—rather than against it—can transform plant vitality\, increase yields\, and build long-term resilience. \nParticipants will learn how soil functions as a living ecosystem and how practices like keeping the soil covered\, minimizing disturbance\, increasing plant diversity\, maintaining living roots\, and supporting soil biology all work together to build fertility naturally. Whether you’re tending a backyard garden or managing acres of land\, this workshop will connect the science of soil with practical\, real-world techniques you can apply right away. \nCome dig into the underground world that feeds your plants\, stores water\, sequesters carbon\, and supports the entire food system. When soil health improves\, everything above ground thrives. \nJoin us at Ka-La Healing Garden Center and learn more about getting your growing spaces ready for the summer growing season. Tips and techniques for preparing soil for both raised beds and growing in the ground will be shared. \n**This event is outdoors on a working farm where you will be surrounded by nature. Ground and terrain may be uneven on the farm. We recommend comfortable shoes\, sunscreen and a hat.** \nThis workshop will take place rain or shine. In cases of extreme weather\, we will contact you 24-36 hours prior to the event if we need to cancel. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUSDA is an equal opportunity provider\, employer\, and lender.
